Women's Aid

Women's Aid is a grassroots federation working together to provide life-saving services and build a future where domestic violence is not tolerated.

Its main service is the Freephone 24 hr National Domestic Violence Helpline, which is run in partnership between Women’s Aid & Refuge. The helpline is staffed by fully trained female helpline support workers and volunteers who will answer your call in confidence. The helpline is for women and children who are experiencing, or have experienced, domestic abuse, as well as those supporting them. You can also email the service, though please note that they won't be able to respond to an email with a phone call due to safety concerns (read more about safety when calling the helpline on their website).

If you want to find help in your area, donate goods to a local service, or start volunteering, Women's Aid provide an online Domestic Abuse Directory. Their website also contains the Survivors’ Forum, a safe and anonymous space for women (over 18) who have been affected by domestic abuse to share their experiences and support one another, as well as information about domestic abuse.
