Occupational Therapy Team Harrow Mental Health Service

Occupational Therapists aim to support the recovery of people with all types of psychological and physical health needs, who are experiencing difficulty with everyday tasks such as self-care, employment and leisure. They aim to help people develop a personally satisfying routine of activities that create a sense of purpose and direction to life. They work alongside people to help them to achieve a balanced life-style and become involved in activities that support their mental and physical health and well-being. Occupational Therapists aim to assist people to develop skills to cope with everyday stresses and strains of life, manage their relationships and meet their psychological needs. They run a varied programme of group activities for service users in community and in-patient settings.  They also take on case-loads of individual service users.  Occupational Therapists have a professional training and are registered, and regulated by, the Health Care Professions Council in the UK.
