Refugee Council

The Refugee Council is one of the leading charities in the UK working directly with refugees, and supporting them to rebuild their lives. They offer practical support and advice to refugees and asylum seekers, including those under 18. They offer the following services.

Refugee services: the Holistic Integration Service supports newly recognised refugees to make the challenging first steps towards resettlement. It covers issues relating to asylum, financial stability, health and wellbeing, access to settled housing and access to training/education and employment.

Work with asylum seekers: support and advice for people who are seeking asylum – counselling, women's and children's groups, signposting, destitution services and ESOL classes.

Therapeutic services: working with clients to empower them to manage their situation, supporting them with crisis interventions and offering them weekly counselling sessions for up to 12 weeks.

The Children's Section: working with separated children, trafficked children and young people whose age is disputed. Support includes activities, educational services, advocacy, therapy and one-on-one case work support.
