PLIAS Resettlement is a community based not for profit organisation and registered charity located in the London boroughs of Brent and Harrow and other boroughs in West London.
PLIAS Resettlement provides the following:
- Education and training to a nationally recognised standard and other bespoke packages
- Employment skills to increase the employability of ex-offenders, including basic skills training
- Life coaching and personal development
- Information, advice and guidance including employment, legal issues and housing
- One to one mentoring and counselling support
- Volunteering opportunities for members of the community and ex-offenders
- Facilitating crime awareness/prevention workshops and other community projects targeting children and young people
- Hosting community seminars and conferences
Their newest project is the Phoenix Project, which specifically supports women who have been involved in the Criminal Justice System and are looking for opportunities in education, training, volunteering and employment. This includes a six-week fitness programme open to all women regardless of whether there is an offending history.
They also run a youth project, EYE-C (Engaging Youth Exiting Crime), for 16-25 years old. They are targeting young men and women who may be deemed hard to reach, at risk of offending behaviour or at risk of entering a gang. They support young people by providing access to information for them to fully explore and understand their options regarding developing a career in their chosen industries. This may be something as small as giving advice on how to access specific education opportunities, vocational training and CV support.
