The Multi-Ethnic Counselling Service was set up in 2004 in response to the growing number of people in South London who felt they needed a more diverse and culturally sensitive experience in counselling.
Counselling is available to members of black and minority ethnic communities who are resident in Lambeth and Southwark, and to refugees and asylum seekers who are resident in any London borough.
At present, we are able to offer counselling in the following languages: Albanian, Amharic, Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, English, Farsi, Farsi (Dari), French, Hindi, Italian, Kurdish, Mandarin, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Spanish, Tamil, Tigrinya, Turkish and Urdu.
We are able to provide the Multi-Ethnic Counselling Service free of charge thanks to the generous support of South London & Maudsley NHS Lambeth Talking Therapies, Talking Therapies Southwark, The Henry Smith Charity, City Bridges and The Big Lottery Fund. Support also comes from a number of other Trusts and Foundations as well as individual donors.
