Hillingdon Brain Tumour and Injury Group

The Hillingdon Brain Tumour & Injury Group provides active support to anyone in the Hillingdon and surrounding areas affected by any type of brain tumour or brain injury. They aim to help patients, carers, friends and family live as full a life as possible, with the best quality of life. They also raise awareness in the local medical and general community of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours. They offer the following services:

- Support Group Meetings: free, twice monthly support group meetings for anyone, offering a safe and relaxed environment to ask questions, share and compare experiences, and help each other through the issues you face every day

- Counselling: the group funds counselling for both adults and children, as well as specialised bereavement counselling

- Complementary therapies: including acupuncture, massage, reiki and reflexology, with therapists who have experience of working in areas such as oncology and palliative care

- Time away: the group offers a respite home on the Sussex coast as part of their post-op package to offer care and rest to families

- Information: the group is run by people who have lived with brain tumours and injuries, whether their own or a loved one's, so they can offer help and advice on both emotional and practical matters
