Women's Therapy Centre

Salvia Women's Therapy Centre helps women overcome barriers to accessing therapy. It does this through a community therapy model which includes outreach via taster sessions and community partnerships as well as one-to-one therapy.

The Centre has a commitment to offering psychotherapy to women whose needs might not otherwise be met elsewhere, and works with women who would not usually have access to therapy.

Our objectives are to improve access to therapeutic services for disadvantaged women, to develop their self-esteem and confidence, and to alleviate their depression, anxiety and anger.

Salvia Women's Therapy Centre was set up to continue the work of the The Women's Therapy Centre, which offered individual and group psychotherapy to women between 1976 and 2019. It ensured that psychotherapy was available to all women, regardless of ability to pay, sexual orientation, disability, cultural or social background, immigration status, previous psychiatric history or age.

Psycho-education groups: a specific type of group therapy consisting of clients that all share similar difficulties.
