Befriending Scheme - Mind in Harrow

One-to-one friendship and support, generally on a weekly basis, meeting at a venue of the service user's choice, usually for a period of a year or more. Befrienders are volunteers who are supported by the scheme.

Who is it for:
People aged 18 and over living in the borough of Harrow who have serious long-term mental health problems and are lonely and isolated, and are eligible for a personal budget or are self-financed

Charges:
There is an initial assessment fee of £150 and a matching fee of £300. Befriending costs £19.00 per hour. Each visit lasts 2 hours. (We recommend 44 sessions per year for best outcomes)
How to apply:
1.Through the care co-ordinator (if you have one) or the lead professional. 2. Call or email the Befriending Scheme Coordinator. He/she will be able to give you more information, advise you how to include this opportunity into your support plan and give you a more detailed programme. 3. Once the support plan has been agreed, the service coordinator will contact you.
